Alicia First Piano Perfomance

Alicia started learning to play the piano in July.

She has enjoyed playing so much that she wanted to play for the church offering.

Dad and I weren't sure, since she just started to learn, but her teacher said that would be a wonderful thing for her to do.

So with no further ado,

Here is the one and only :

We are so proud of our little girl and her excitement to play the piano.

VACATIONING
Well I am a bit late in sharing our fun adventure to New Mexico, Arizona and to Colorado.
Our first stop was New Mexico to see my Mom and Dad on the ranch that they just moved to early in the year.

Our first morning there we were greeted with the yearlings bawling and the hooping and haulering of the cowboys.
Now all the times we went to work with Dad on the ranch growing up, I was never a part of a shipping. So this was quite a treat!
Even though there is nothing special about it, there is just something about hearing those cattle bauling.
I really enjoyed watching the truck roll in the yearling getting seperated, and Dad climbing fences in a way that is pretty quick.
It is alway a treat to watch Dad do his magic where ever he is working.

Of course pictures have to be taken when they can.
I just love Mom and Dad's little cottage. It is a very cute and it fits Mom and Dad well.
Alicia loved playing with the cat and dog until she found out they shed all over you. Then she didn't care much for them.
Mom has become another Annie Oakley(well kinda). Just had to get her carring her pistol.

Papa David had a opportuntiy to show Alicia how to play marbles. That was quite a treat!
We did alot of exploring on the ranch with with Mom and Dad. Mom found alot of rocks that sure looked like they had a pretty unique job to do for the Indians.
Jube did find some rocks that were grinding wholes, that the Indians had used.
In all of our searching no one found an arrowhead, until the very end when we were walking back to the truck and there it was just right for the picken for Papa David.

We had alot of fun with Mom and Dad. They gave us the great tour of the ranch.

Jube's Project

Jube is a man who loves a great challenge.

One day I entered the shop to find that Jube is taking the engine out of his truck.

"Um, I wonder what is wrong with the engine. It sounded pretty good last time we went for a drive." I said to myself.
The next day or two a lot of things were going on in the shop, not really sure what it was, but I soon find out.
Jube is in the process of putting the engine in the back of his truck!

Now this is something I have never seen before! I wondered what the purpose was for doing this. A lot of questions are going through my head, as I am sure they are going through yours.

I soon learned that Jube really likes a challenge, and also the answer to my question.

There are many reasons for putting the engine in the back of the truck, one of which is, it puts more weight in the back and makes it better for jumping.

Jube started this project around January or February, and has been working on it since.

The majority of the work is done, just the little odds and ends that need to be worked on. He has gone on a few successful drives now.

He sure does have a big smile on his face when he returns to the house!

That is my favorite part of all this, is seeing that grin on his face!

He loves to hear the sound of that motor rumble as he is driving.

One thing that I learned quickly was that now matter how much snow there is on the ground, Jube goes stir crazy and needs a project do. One which he would prefer to be done in his shop!

I loved my husband, and his creativity.

Great Job Jube!

Everett's Creations

One day I walk into the office to find Everett looking on the computer for army boots.

"Can I help you Everett?"
"Well I am looking for some army boots to wear with my army stuff."
"Okay, lets see what they have."

No luck in finding Everett's size in army boots, after looking for 30 minutes or so.

"Well, I am sorry Everett but you will have to wait until you feet get bigger. Sorry Buddy."

30 minutes pass by, Everett comes to me and says, " Mom, I know what I can do."
"What's that Son?"
"I can take my mud boots and if I cut them here and here and then punch holes in them, then I could have my army boots."
"Everett, please do not do that. You are going to need your mud boots for when it is muddy. If you cut them they they will leek and you will have some pretty wet feet. Please do not cut them."

A day later look what I found. Everett had made his own Army boots.

I do have so say he is a very creative resourceful young man.

Our Home

Our Home
God blessed us with a house to own in March of 2009. We know that God has blessed us with more than we ever deserve.
Here are some of our modifications that we have done with our Blessed Home.
A few shots of the house BEFORE we did some repainting.

And some AFTER shoots. You can defantly tell that we live here. I love to look back at those wonderful colors.
Now we just need some curtains to add to the windows and they are now in the making, thanks to a blessed friend.
The Lord truly has blessed us with this wonderful home. We have enjoyed having so many come over and share our table with us. We have seen old friends, meet new friends, and family came from a far.
Thank you Lord for such blessings!

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

AWANA BIBLE QUIZ
This year was the first year for our church to be a part of Awana Bible Quiz.
We were all so excited. There was 4 teams. Book 1 team had 2 members: Book 2 Team had 6 members; Book 3 Team had 1 member and Book 4 team had 3 members.
We were so proud of them all . They all came away from the quizzing more confident about their knowledge in their Lord and Savior and what the Word of God says.
Everett was a part of Book 2 Team. His team came away with 1st place and Everett received a High Honors for a perfect score on his written part of the quiz. Great Job Everett!!
In a couple of weeks the T & T kids will be participating in the Awana Games. We really are looking forward to participating in the Games!

Friday, March 4, 2011

It has been over a year since I have written my last blog. So needless to say there is a lot to catch up on. So I will start with a little bit at a time. Here lately we (mostly Jube) have been doing some landscape work on the yard. In hopes that it will help with the flooding situation in the basement. Here is a little glimpse of what has been happening.

The start of the digging process! Jube lifted the sidewalk back to the original height that it was when the house was first built. Talk about A LOT of work and very heavy lifting.
Then the digging continued, then the wood chips arrived to help with the fill in.
Now it is all filled in and we are starting on the other side of the house. What a process!!
We are having a lot of fun. Enjoying the warm days when they are here and really looking forward when they are here to stay for a season.
